More New York city Style
the artist
I am loving the skirt this Free people employee is wearing.
More stylish individuals from the always inspiring Union Square.
Teenage angst...again, love it.
You can't see it that well, but this guy has the "homeless look"
Teens with ciggies as accessories, sigh...
So obviously i'm really into people watching, it's a hobby of mine or "obsession" as dr. phill might refer to it (yeah, I fill my time with his antics). And with summer just around the corner, my camera and I are gonna have a field day!
Anthropologie, The Willy Wonka of fashion and decor
Why is it that so many of us giggle with enthusiasm when someone utters the words "let's go to anthropologie" could it be....
the delicious lanterns
would like to turn some of these glass jars into table lamps. The teakwood mirrors will add great texture to any interior space missing that oomph!
Of course one is not enough
Luscious gumdrops
rest while considering your choices (this chesterfield would look great in my living room)
The creative people at anthropologie always come up with funnest store displays (making me want to touch everything),their window displays make me all kinds of happy, and their monthly catalog is the cat's meow. This place is truly a wonderland, filled with flare and personality.
It is my favorite place to get lost in.

Enjoy the Weekend!

Today I leave you with this image from the fabulous Yvette Inufio, who was nice enough to let me post one of her photos.
Her images are delicate, romantic, refined and subtle. The subjects are perfectly edited; she strips away those elements that take away from the emotional and editorial impact of the subject and leaves only what is relevant, to capture the things we miss and the stories we haven't heard.
Yes, I'm smitten. And her prints Will make fine additions in my bathroom, over my desk, on my huge bookcase, over my bed, as a gift, as a desktop background...
Fall more in love with her and her work:

This weekend
Two things I am looking forward to this weekend: Mama (my grandmother) is staying with us, she is an incredible person and I don't get to see her as much. And two, we have been promised nice weather, it's been rainy and cold all week in nyc

Yeah, I gave her a big one.
So I'm thinking of taking her to

eat:

Ask for their specials... I had the fish and it was damn good! Also, they take cash only. The place is warm and cozy, decorated with colorful plates and folk art.
and if she's up to it...

This place is filled with old world charm, she's never been and I know we will both enjoy it! It is smaller, which is great because she won't feel overwhelmed.

I am definitely getting a dog
Besides real estate, clothing and shoes, the 4th thing I search online for is puppies. I have been dropping hints for moths now, and my husband is finally starting to listen. So I am looking at different types of dogs like the one below.

This adorable puppy is a Cockapoo (yeah, the name does it to me too). It is a mix between a poodle and a cockerspaniel, it is also known as a designer dog.

Her name is Franny, she's 3 months old and weights 2.4lbs.

I like this breed of dog, even do they sometimes develop eye problems, they're too cute and very affordable.
Look at her...she has BUY me written all over her face. for more Cockapoo's see this.

Eyelet

I am so tempted to get this Eyelet prairie summer dress from Bluebird vintage. I am gushing over this because it is perfect for a summer getaway, or a romantic date.
I love eyelet, it's so oh so pretty,it's inspired me to do a post dedicated to it.

I want to decorate my apartment and future home with Steve Alpert
I am in love with this artist's work. I get lost in these peaceful landscape pieces, like I have seen them in a story or remember them from a dream. Art has never taken a backseat in his life; when asked how his TV producing background taught him about painting he answered: "Standing in front of an easel is like film or video editing. Taking disparate parts and telling a fluid story."--Dan's Paper 08'
Below is a collection of landscape oil painings "All the things you are"
"Transcend"
The muted tones in this sunset is the perfect transcendence to night.

"That time of day"
"...I begin a landscape painting without any notion of what the final image will be. I am always surprised by what appears on the canvas as the image develops." --Steve Alpert bio
"Early spring"
"Travels"
I am fascinated by his play of sky and light by lowering the the horizon line.
"Love"
"With your thoughts"
He changed his idealistic and very serene landscape images for the troubling reality of War in the a series titled "Through their eyes." He was able to combine his love of history and art, with a collection of military paintings, as seen through the eyes of young soldiers who served in the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars. He met these veterans of war at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the spring of 05'. The images are inspired by photographs taken by soldiers. Press Release 07'
"Sandstorm"
"Night Scope"
Steve has used his passion for life, world events, and professional experiences to bring a unique vision to his artwork. His paintings hold a story that goes beyond the surface, they are filled with passion, love, and adventure.
"I ache to paint the wide-open spaces, the vast prairies, the desert lands and the naked sea and sky. These are the places that have given me serenity in my life, the gift given to me and my way of passing it along." --Steve Alpert for more information see here.
