I want to decorate my apartment and future home with Steve Alpert

I am in love with this artist's work. I get lost in these peaceful landscape pieces, like I have seen them in a story or remember them from a dream. Art has never taken a backseat in his life; when asked how his TV producing background taught him about painting he answered: "Standing in front of an easel is like film or video editing.  Taking disparate parts and telling a fluid story."--Dan's Paper 08'
Below is a collection of landscape oil painings
"All the things you are"
"Transcend"
The muted tones in this sunset is the perfect transcendence to night.
"That time of day"
"...I begin a landscape painting without any notion of what the final image will be. I am always surprised by what appears on the canvas as the image develops." --Steve Alpert bio
"Early spring"
"Travels"
I am fascinated by his play of sky and light by lowering the the horizon line.
"Love"
"With your thoughts"
He changed his idealistic and very serene landscape images for the troubling reality of War in the a series titled "Through their eyes." He was able to combine his love of  history and art, with a collection of military paintings, as seen through the eyes of young soldiers who served in the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars. He met these veterans of war at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the spring of 05'. The images are inspired by photographs taken by soldiers. Press Release 07'
"Sandstorm"
"Night Scope"
Steve has used his passion for life, world events, and professional experiences to bring a unique vision to his artwork. His paintings hold a story that goes beyond the surface, they are filled with passion, love, and adventure.
"I ache to paint the wide-open spaces, the vast prairies, the desert lands and the naked sea and sky. These are the places that have given me serenity in my life, the gift given to me and my way of passing it along." --Steve Alpert
