Children's book art

I love art and reading. They are two life long passions of mine that started with picture books. As a little girl I remember sitting in my grandmother's old rocking chair enjoying the illustrations that vividly captured what was written. Loosing myself in the small details as portrayed by talented artists.

Below are some Illustrating books that I find inspiring.

My Little Artist was written and illustrated by Donna Green. It tells the sweet story of a young girl who is mentored by her grandmother during the summer.

Each image feels like a delightful dream, it is obvious that it has been painted with love.
Donna has a quaint little art shop "The Donna Green Studio" in Marshfield Hills, MA

"The Wisest Man in the World" Illustrated by Anita Lobel
I chose this book because it's fairytale-like, filled with whimsical pictures

Anita is well known as one of the greatest children book creators. She is responsible for the classic "One lighthouse, one moon" which received a Best Illustrated award from The New York times.

"Little Women" a classic, Illustrated by Gavin Rowe.
I love the the story and the way Gavin so delicately Illustrated the interiors. They have been drawn with the sweetest of details.

I love that each drawing depict a happy vision of the beauty, peace, and safety of an ideal house.

Everything is extravagantly formal and old fashioned

Wow! I love the story book idea. What a great inspiration. Do you do school design? I bet you would have some great designs for a school library or even the hallways!
